Tottenham are planning to make a summer swoop for Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri
Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to improve a few positions in the upcoming summer transfer window. The North London side have endured a tough season and one of the main reasons for the club sitting in the bottom half of the table is the lack of squad depth.
The club bosses have adapted the transfer strategy of investing in young talent with potential in recent years. They also need to bring in some proven commodities who are already delivering the goods consistently in the Premier League.
With Ben Davies and Sergio Reguilon out of contract at the end of the season, Spurs could be forced to enter the market for a new left-back. According to an exclusive report from The Boy Hotspur, Tottenham are interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri. They are planning to submit an opening bid of €35 million to sign the player.
Tottenham eye summer swoop for Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri
Rayan Ait-Nouri has developed into one of the best attacking full-backs in the Premier League, thanks to his consistent performances for Wolves over the years. The French-born Algerian international is closing in on 150 club appearances and has been among the rare bright sparks in an otherwise sorry campaign for Wolves. He has bagged three goals and five assists in 28 Premier League appearances this term as the Wanderers look to retain their top-flight status under Vitor Pereira.
The 23-year-old’s contract with his current employers is set to expire in the summer of 2026, and he doesn’t appear keen on extending his stay at Molineux with a preference to rather move to a bigger club. While Spurs are willing to table a €35 million bid, the aforementioned report adds Wolves are demanding around €50/60 million for Ait-Nouri which could complicate negotiations.
The full-back has been a position in which Tottenham have struggled this season with both left-backs Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies suffering from injuries. In their absences, Djed Spence has had to operate at left-back, while Archie Gray has also filled in several times. The exits of Davies and Reguilon this summer would leave the left-back unit in particular need of strengthening.

Ait-Nouri, in that regard, would be a good fit in Postecoglou’s high-pressing, attacking system at White Hart Lane. Even though the Algerian international has operated majorly as a wing-back at Wolves, he is also comfortable playing as a left-back and would be a fantastic option to compete with Udogie. A move to Spurs would also be a step up in the Montreal-born talent’s career, providing him with the opportunity to hone his skills under Ange’s watchful eyes.
That being said, the Lilywhites must do everything within their powers to sign Ait-Nouri before the 2025/26 season commences.
