Harry Maguire sends message to Rasmus Hojlund as Manchester United goal drought finally ends

Manchester United beat Leicester City 3-0 on Sunday night with Rasmus Hojlund finally ending his goal drought.

Ruben Amorim is starting to see encouraging signs from his Manchester United squad.

United beat Real Sociedad 4-1 on Thursday night and were back in the goals again on Sunday night.

Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes all found the net as United beat Leicester City 3-0 at the King Power Stadium.

Two wins in a row is a welcome boost for United but the goals are so important given the problems in front of goal this season.

Rasmus Hojlund reacts after Manchester United goal

Hojlund’s opener was a moment of quality as the Dane fired home on his right foot after profiting from a Leicester mistake.

Hojlund impressed against Real Sociedad on Thursday night but couldn’t find the net.

That extended Hojlund’s goal drought to 21 games in all competitions with his last goal coming against Viktoria Plzen in December.

The drought is finally over though as Hojlund fired home against Leicester and set United on the way to a 3-0 win.

Hojlund took to Instagram after the final whistle, posting a photo celebrating his goal alongside the caption ‘Yeah okay, might say I enjoyed that one’.

Hojlund received messages from teammates with Toby Collyer, Sam Mather, Ethan Wheatley, Ayden Heaven and Amad Diallo sharing their support.

Harry Maguire said ‘love it mate’ whilst Mason Mount offered a similar sentiment with Hojlund’s goalscoring nightmare now over.

Joshua Zirkzee also offered a comment for his fellow attacker, stating ‘we all did mate’ as the United squad celebrate Hojlund’s goal.

Rasmus Hojlund set for major international double-header

The first international break of 2025 is now here and Hojlund will be heading away with Denmark.

Boss Brian Riemer believes Hojlund needs this time with Denmark, suggesting that he needs the love of his international teammates right now.

Hojlund will be battling for minutes in the Danish attack this week alongside Jonas Wind, Mika Biereth and Conrad Harder.

Denmark play twice against Portugal in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals, meaning Hojlund will be in line to face Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Hojlund will hope to take his goal on Sunday into this international break and hopefully return to United with even more confidence for the games to come.
