Amari Cooper Predicted to Join $100 Million Pro Bowl QB on NFC Team

Believe it or not, there are still a few impactful players available on the open market nearly a full week into NFL free agency.

Veteran quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson are still deciding on a team for the 2025 season and are certainly taking their time. Meanwhile, veteran Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper are there for the taking.

The Seattle Seahawks have already loaded up this offseason by signing quarterback Sam Darnold, who is coming off a revelatory 2024 campaign, to a three-year, $100.5 million contract, and they also brought in veteran wideout Cooper Kupp. Nick Brinkerhoff of USA TODAY predicts the Seahawks will end up with Cooper.

"Every move they've made is just another indication of a team attempting a rebuild on the fly, which typically never works," Brinkerhoff wrote. "Cooper might not be at the height of his powers, but he could fill a spot for the Seahawks before they potentially address the receiver issue more in the draft."

As recently as the 2023 season, Cooper caught 72 passes for 1,250 yards and five touchdowns, earning him his fifth Pro Bowl nod as he helped the Cleveland Browns unexpectedly make the playoffs. But last season, the Browns decided to start clearing house, and he was moved to the Buffalo Bills, where he wasn't targeted much.

He will be just 31 years of age once training camp starts this summer, and he remains one of the NFL's best at running routes. Since Kupp is a bit long in the tooth, Cooper could provide him and Jaxon Smith-Njigba with some support offensively.

The question, of course, is how much Cooper truly has left in the tank after producing just 547 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games last season.
