Women's Loan Watch | Houssein bags first Beylerbeyi goal as Doe and Ipswich close gap to Hashtag

_Five of West Ham United women’s team’s loanees were in action for their respective temporary clubs at the weekend..._

**Halle Houssein** netted her first goal for Beylerbeyi in their 7-1 Turkish Super Lig Women rout over Cekmekoy on Sunday.

The 20-year-old opened the scoring after just seven minutes played, and her team boasted a five-goal lead at the break. The visitors pulled a goal back in the 71st minute, but the hosts continued to dominate and scored another two before the full-time whistle sounded.

The victory leaves Beylerbeyi sitting seventh in the Super Lig Women standings.

Elsewhere, **Shannon Cooke** maintained her 100 per cent record with Birmingham City as her side took another step towards promotion from the Barclays Women’s Championship with a 2-1 victory at home to eighth-placed Southampton on Sunday.

The Blues had a two-goal lead by the 36th minute at St Andrew's Stadium - courtesy of a Simone Magill penalty and a back-post header from Choe Yu-ri - but the visitors did halve the deficit six minutes before half-time through Chloe Peplow.

Birmingham held on, though, to secure another precious three points, leaving them three points clear of second-placed London City Lionesses, who have a game in hand on their fellow promotion contenders.

Meanwhile, **Jessie Stapleton** and **Keira Flannery** both played another 90 minutes for Sunderland, who fell to a 2-1 defeat away at ninth-placed Portsmouth on Sunday.

Following a goalless first period, Portsmouth struck twice in four second-half minutes to gain a firm grip on the contest and didn’t let Katy Watson’s 75th-minute strike detract them from clinging onto the victory.

The defeat leaves the Lasses remaining sixth in the standings.

Elsewhere, forward **Ruby Doe** was handed another Ipswich Town start as the Tractor Girls closed the gap on FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division leaders Hashtag United with a 2-0 away win against Gwalia United on Sunday.

The 19-year-old played 90 minutes for the Blues, who were celebrating after half-an-hour played when Sophie Peskett raced onto a lofted ball and finished off the post - and the winger was at the double seven minutes from time, guiding Grace Garrad’s free-kick home.

With two games in hand on **Ellie Moore**’s Hashtag United - who were not in action at the weekend - Ipswich sit three points behind the league leaders.

Meanwhile, **Katelin Talbert** was an unused substitute for Aston Villa in their 3-1 defeat at Crystal Palace in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

In Sweden, **Inès Belloumou** and Malmö will conclude their Svenska Cupen group-stage campaign away at Linköping on Monday evening.

The 23-year-old’s side currently sit second in the standings, level on points with leaders Rosengard, who have a one-better goal difference - and only the top team from the group will progress to the semi-finals.
