Picking up three points against Blackburn means Jocelyn Prêcheur’s side stay just narrowly behind table-toppers Birmingham City in what is shaping up to be a tasty title race. The centre-back affirmed that London City have their eyes firmly on the prize of promotion.

Goldie said: “100%, of course, that’s our goal. But, we know we’ve just got to take it game by game, and getting the win today was another step in the right direction.”

London City provides _‘a good platform’_ says Goldie

----------------------------------------------------

Goldie is on loan at the Championship side from Barclays Women’s Super League outfit Arsenal, alongside attacking teammate Freya Godfrey who assisted Miljana Ivanović’s winning goal at Hayes Lane Stadium this weekend.

An important part of the current England Under-23s setup, Goldie will be looking to catch Sarina Wiegman’s eye in the not so distant future. The Young Lioness spoke briefly but positively about her time so far with London City, saying “I felt very comfortable since the beginning and coming here it’s provided me with a platform. It’s good, I’m enjoying it.”

She continued, “I’ve loved having this experience, to be honest. I think it’s a very interesting league. Being in a promotion battle is exciting, and it’s really going to help me develop in my career.”

London City will host Sheffield United at Hayes Lane this coming Sunday as they look to add another three points to their title-chasing campaign.
