Unai Emery is reportedly still interest in bringing Juan Foyth to Villa Park
Unai Emery has reportedly sent scouts out to Spain in the pursuit of getting a deal for Juan Foyth over the line after a failed attempt over the winter.
The Argentinian full back and former Tottenham Hotspur player has impressed in his last four season at Villarreal drawing the eyes of some of Europe's top teams, with Aston Villa rumoured to be leading the chase.
He and Emery worked closely together during their time at the Yellow Submarine with the manager wanting to rekindle their relationship.
The Villans reportedly held talks to sign the right back in January but were unable to get a deal over the line. Villa's interest is something the player seemed to respond to well.
In an interview with AS Foyth revealed: “I had disconnected a bit during the Christmas break, but I saw that there was talk of that possibility. I know Villarreal and Aston Villa spoke, but only up to that point.
"I learned a lot from Unai; I became more mature and a better footballer. That interest shows the confidence Unai has in me, and I’m flattered.”

Despite Villa signing Andres Garcia from Levante seemingly instead of Foyth, according to Estadio Deportivo Villa scouts are still keeping a close eye on Foyth with a look to bolster the position even more in the summer.
They even claim staff from the club made a trip to the Estadio de la Cerámica to watch the Argentinian in action against Real Madrid, where despite the defeat Foyth managed to bag a goal himself.
The 27-year-old would only set Villa back around £6 million according to TransferMarkt and with the Villarreal man also able to play at centre back could add some defensive depth to the squad for a relatively small fee.
Although it's uncertain if Foyth himself wants a return to England after he claimed it was his "dream" to stay at Villarreal for many years to come, however that decision may be up to the club and if they want to recoup the £12 million they paid for him.
