The Minnesota Timberwolves have become the hottest team in the league in March 2025. They are on an eight-game winning streak, and they want to keep going to reach their goal of returning to the Playoffs.
Anthony Edwards has been the superstar for the team, but he credits head coach Chris Finch for inspiring them. After a slow start to the 2024-25 season, the Timberwolves are a re-energized team in the second half, mostly due to Finch's influence.
Ever since Finch took over the reins as the Timberwolves' head coach, they have been on an upward trajectory. Of course, the players deserve the bulk of the credit due to their performances. However, Ant and his teammates always credit the head coach for their success.
The Timberwolves are in a good position to end the 24-25 season strong. It is the best-case scenario after an inconsistent start to the campaign when they had to adjust to the Karl-Anthony Towns trade.

The Timberwolves Love Coach Finch
Minnesota's most recent win against the Utah Jazz marked the 200th win of Coach Finch's head coaching career. It was a magnificent result because he proved he was the right choice in 2021.
Some people expected other coaches like David Vanterpool would take over, but the Timberwolves front office opted for Finch. It was the right decision because Chris helped the Timberwolves to become a contender in the 2023-24 season, and they are looking to return to that pinnacle.
Since he got the full support from the players, Finch is in a good position to keep succeeding with the Timberwolves. In the long run, having a coach that has grown with core players like Edwards and Jaden McDaniels is valuable because they have created a strong culture within the group.
Anthony Edwards' "kill shot."
His pull-up 3 going to his left -- half side-step, half step-back.
Last 3 games he's 10 for 11 on that shot.
"His 2nd year I was like if that thing's real, that's another-level player & it's turned out to be that way."

The Turning Point Of The Timberwolves' 2024-25 Season
After a slow start to the season, the Timberwolves ramped it up in 2025. However, the players needed a wake-up call, which meant Finch had to open their eyes. During a film session back on January 29th, the head coach asserted that the team needed to change.
"It's been kind of easier because we got our whole team back. In Phoenix, Finchy had a great meeting, man," Ant said after the win against Utah. "Either we are going to come together as a team and push for the Playoffs, or we're just gonna keep looking for individual stats and accolades... I think we're all locked in collectively."
That is a realistic approach to the team because the Timberwolves are talented enough to keep up with anybody. Finch knows there is untapped potential within the squad, so he had to get real with his players.
That was a massive turning point for Minnesota because they have become one of the best teams in the league. They do not have a top-tier record yet, but the winning streak is proof of what they could do in the long run with Finch as the head coach.
