Cristian Romero sends clear promise to Tottenham fans after Fulham defeat

Cristian Romero has sent a defiant message to the Tottenham supporters after the club fell to their 15th Premier League defeat of the season at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

While Spurs still harbour hopes of making this campaign a memorable one by going all the way in the Europa League, their league form continues to go from bad to worse.

The Lilywhites fell to their 15th league defeat in just 29 games this season, a more than 50 per cent loss ratio, which leaves the club rooted to the bottom half of the table.

Tottenham’s vice-captain, Cristian Romero, has now weighed in on the club’s current predicament.

Cristian Romero calls for unity at Tottenham

Tottenham fans would have been hoping that Romero’s return from injury would help fix the club’s issues at the back, but the same problems continue to rear their ugly head, with the North London club once again conceded two soft goals at Craven Cottage.

Romero has now taken to social media to admit that no one at Spurs is happy with the current situation and remarked that the players take responsibility for the poor results.

Romero said: ‘We’re not happy with our current situation, but this group will always stand up and take responsibility for everything that happens at the club. Let’s all continue to stand together

Once again fans, thank you for always being there.’

Is Ange Postecoglou struggling to motivate his players for league matches?

Postecoglou has repeatedly made it clear that Tottenham Hotspur cannot afford to take the eye off the ball in the Premier League and focus purely on the Europa League.

However, the players know deep down that they have nothing to play for in the league and perhaps that psychologically has an effect on their motivation levels.

It seems like Tottenham’s league season is likely to peter out, with the bottom-half finish now looking highly likely.
