Newcastle United's heroes arrived back at the city's airport on Monday afternoon proudly sporting their Carabao Cup winners' medals.
Eddie Howe was pictured on the private plane which brought the squad back with the trophy which ended the the Magpies' 70-year wait for domestic silverware on Sunday. The square were also honoured with a water salute from Newcastle Airport's fire service as the plane touched down.
Some diehard fans had gathered a the airport hoping to catch a glimpse of the players with the cup and their medals.
Fabian Schar, Callum Wilson, Jacob Murphy, Emil Krafth, William Osula, Nick Pope and Harvey Barnes were all smiles as they left for their cars. Jason Tindall was also seen, giving a big smile to ChronicleLive photographer Simon Greener.
Fans will be eager to see the squad in a victory parade, which is yet to be announced, but for now, it looks as if the players will be heading home to rest with their families - at least those who aren't about to jet off for international duty.
A spokesperson for Newcastle Airport welcomed the players home and wished a huge congratulations to the club, the players and the Toon Army. NUFC's 2-1 win over Liverpool at Wembley saw celebrations both in Newcastle and London into the early hours of this morning.
