Last season at Ole Miss, quarterback Jaxson Dart put up some solid numbers. The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder threw for 4,729 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 329.2 yards per game to lead the SEC, and his 10.8 yards per attempt and 180.7 rating led the nation.
The Rebels' offense, though, isn't considered conducive to producing NFL quarterbacks, so there has been some restraint when it comes to slotting Dart into the upcoming NFL draft.
There have been indications, though, that Dart may have done enough this offseason to show that he is worthy of a first-round pick. But what's truly shocking is that there are now whispers that Dart could not only go in the first round ... but could go in the Top 3.
That's the prediction from Pro Football Focus in its new mock draft, which has the Giants and Titans swapping the No. 1 and 3 picks, with the Giants taking Cam Ward and Tennessee adding Dart, who would presumably replace Will Levis after two disappointing seasons.
The site predicted the trade: "Titans receive No. 3 pick, No. 65 pick, 2026 first-round pick and 2026 third-round pick; Giants receive No. 1 pick."

And of Dart, it writes: "The Titans profit from the Giants' desperation and take Dart while gaining multiple picks to build out their team over the next two years. With the best data profile of any quarterback in this class, Dart has the arm talent, accuracy and athleticism to become a franchise NFL quarterback."
Dart very well may be the No. 3 quarterback taken in next month's draft behind Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, but there are rumors, too, that he is a longshot even to be a first-rounder in a draft in which some question whether Sanders should be a first-rounder.
NFL.com's scouting report on Dart notes, "Dart has a stocky build and average physical attributes but good makeup and intangibles. He's fairly accurate and rarely overcomplicates things for himself. He won't strike anyone as a running quarterback, but he can find tough yards on the ground. ...
"Teams might see physical and play similarities between Dart and Brock Purdy but such a pathway for Dart likely requires a balanced, ball-control passing attack that allows him to manage the game instead of driving it."
