Dele Alli has well-wishers at Everton as he looks to put the toughest spell in his career behind him at Como.
Alli was restricted to just 13 appearances across all competitions during his two-year stint with Everton. However, that is not to say he is not remembered fondly by those at Goodison Park.
It was no surprise that the Englishman had all the blessings from the Premier League club when he decided to leave in December, months after his original contract had expired.
The Merseyside-based club had no plans to stand in his way when he decided to join Como in Italy after allowing him to work towards regaining full fitness at Finch Farm without a contract.

In the latest development in a turbulent career, Alli made his first competitive appearance since February 2023 on Saturday (15 March), coming on as a substitute in Como’s 2-1 Serie A loss against AC Milan.
However, there was another twist waiting for the former Tottenham ace as he was sent off for a foul on Ruben Loftus-Cheek 10 minutes after coming on.
Alli, though, was just glad to have returned to action after two years and later took to social media to express his delight at stepping on the pitch once again.
“Two years! Not necessarily how I planned, but we keep moving”, he wrote on Instagram (16 March).

The post drew a response from several personalities, including friends at his former clubs.
Abdoulaye Doucoure was among those who were happy to see Alli back playing competitive football, responding with clapping and fire emojis.
Former Everton ace Ben Godfrey also joined in, posting a blue heart emoji along with a shakehand.

Doucoure to leave Everton
Meanwhile, it is only a matter of time before Doucoure puts an end to his five-year spell at Everton as his contract expires at the end of the season.
It emerged earlier this month that the Goodison Park outfit have decided against triggering the one-year extension in his contract.
Although they could still negotiate a new deal on fresh terms in the summer, it appears that will not be the case.
Therefore, Doucoure will leave the Merseyside outfit as a free agent at the end of the season, with clubs in Saudi Arabia and the UAE interested in acquiring his services already.
