West Ham are set to miss out on Lille striker Jonathan David in the summer transfer window in a “huge new blow”, sources have told Football Insider.
David, 25, is out of contract at Lille in June after running down his contract with the Ligue 1 side.
The Canada international has been watched closely by West Ham – as well as Premier League trio Newcastle, Liverpool and Man United.
However, David has admitted Barcelona are his “dream” destination – and sources say the Catalan giants are likely to firm up their interest in the off-season.
