The Carolina Panthers star 30-year-old right tackle Taylor Moton had a great 2024 campaign, seeing his numbers drastically improve compared to 2023. Moton gave up 14 pressures, 11 hurries, two QB hits, and one sack, posting a 79.8 pass-blocking, a 66.9 run-blocking, and a 77.2 overall PFF grade in 14 games. He gave up 41 pressures, 40 hurries, and one sack, posting a 78.1 pass-blocking, a 65.6 run-blocking, and a 74.6 overall PFF grade in 17 starts in 2023.
Since he is a reliable offensive tackle for the Panthers’ offense, an extension seems logical this offseason.

Taylor Moton enters the final year of his 4-year, $71.2 million contract extension, which he signed during the 2021 offseason, and is set to hit free agency next year. Moton is scheduled to earn a $14.3 million base salary, a $3 million roster bonus due on March 15, the third day of the new league year, and a $31.3 million cap hit in 2025. Since he is in the final year of his contract and currently has the highest cap hit of any offensive tackle, the Panthers have the option to extend, restructure, release him, or leave it as is.

According to Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer,Taylor Moton will earn his $3 million roster bonus since he remains on the active roster now that the March 15 deadline has passed. As Kaye points out, the Panthers will likely let Moton play out the final year of his deal and leave his contract as is. As a result, the front office is not expected to extend or alter their $71 million offensive tackle’s contract as they brace for him to hit free agency next offseason.
Moton has a $31.3 million cap number. The bonus going through all-but signifies there won’t be an alteration to the deal this year.
