Eagles’ Cooper DeJean Predicts Major Upset in First Round of 2025 NCAA Tournament

Cooper DeJean couldn't have asked for a better ending to his rookie season, helping the Philadelphia Eagles to their second Super Bowl win and recording his first NFL pick-six on Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Now, a little over one month removed from Super Bowl LIX, March Madness has arrived as the 2025 NCAA Tournament was revealed on Sunday night. And many fans are already starting to fill out their brackets, including DeJean.

DeJean, the former Iowa Hawkeyes football star, notably had three No. 1 seeds in his Final Four, including the Duke Blue Devils, Florida Gators and Houston Cougars. However, he has No. 2 seed Michigan State knocking off No. 1 overall seed Auburn Tigers in the Elite Eight.

DeJean also picked Houston to win the championship.

DeJean had two notable upsets in the first round. In the West Region, he had the No. 11 seed Drake Bulldogs defeating the No. 6 seed Missouri Tigers despite being 6.5-point underdogs (ESPN BET). Drake finished their season with a 30-3 record thanks to guard Bennett Stirtz and his 19.1 points per game. However, the Bulldogs have yet to face a ranked team this season.

The second big upset DeJean has in his bracket comes in the South Region, picking the No. 6 seed Ole Miss Rebels to fall to the No. 11 seed San Diego State Aztecs, who have a First Four matchup with the North Carolina Tar Heels on Tuesday.

Another noteworthy pick DeJean made was having the No. 10 seed Arkansas Razorbacks take down the No. 7 seed Kansas Jayhawks. He also has No. 2 seed Alabama Crimson Tide falling in the Sweet 16 to the No. 6 seed BYU Cougars.
