Bruno Guimaraes etched his name into Newcastle United history when he lifted the Carabao Cup at Wembley.
The 27-year-old midfielder will forever be known as the Newcastle United captain who ended a 70-year wait for silverware.
Bruno Guimaraes rallied Newcastle fans before the final, urging supporters to be positive ahead of the trip to Wembley despite a difficult few weeks in the build-up.
When the final rolled around, Newcastle fans had Wembley shaking and supported the team excellently. The players matched their energy and dominated Liverpool in London.
Guimaraes was outstanding at Wembley and led by example for the entire 90 minutes. After the full-time whistle, Guimaraes gave an emotional speech.

Guimaraes intends to stay at Newcastle for years to come after falling in love with the city and the club.
Sunday’s final will only bring him closer to a Newcastle fanbase that already adores him. Bruno Guimaraes has always put the fans first, and he kept his promise to one supporter with a brilliant gesture.
On social media, Newcastle fan Megan Price revealed that her son had given Guimaraes a hat in the build-up to the final.

Guimaraes promised to wear it at Wembley and he kept that promise, posing with the trophy while wearing it.
If it wasn’t already obvious, Guimaraes is a class act and a brilliant representative for Newcastle United.
How long will Bruno Guimaraes stay at Newcastle United?
After winning the Carabao Cup final, Guimaraes said he wants to stay at Newcastle until the fans chant about him the same way they do to Alan Shearer.
“This is my second home. We are making history. Some day when I leave this club I want the fans to sing my name the way they do to Shearer,” Guimaraes said.
That will be music to the ears of Newcastle fans.
Guimaraes has a contract at Newcastle until 2028, but it seems he is eager to stay beyond that date and the club will be eager to tie him down to a new deal.

Manchester City have been linked to Guimaraes and those rumours continued to swirl over the January window, but Newcastle set their asking price around £100million. Even if an offer that size did arrive, it seems unlikely that the club or player would want it to go ahead.
Guimaraes is Geordie through and through, and he has plenty of years ahead of him wearing black and white.
