Eagles Predicted to Sign Three-Time Pro Bowl edge to Replace Josh Sweat

The Philadelphia Eagles have suffered some big roster losses this offseason, but one of the most devastating is EDGE Josh Sweat, who signed a four-year, $76 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

He was one of the Eagles' most effective pass rushers in 2024, accumulating 41 tackles, eight sacks, nine tackles for loss, 15 quarterback hits, 16 pressures and six quarterback knockdowns.

In an effort to try and replace his production, Cory Woodruff of For The Win predicts that Philadelphia will sign three-time Pro Bowl EDGE Za'Darius Smith.

"The Eagles can help with some of the losses sustained on the defensive line by adding Smith, a wily veteran pass rusher who can rotate in and out of Philly's ferocious defensive front," Woodruff wrote.

Smith is coming off a solid year, playing for the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns, racking up 35 tackles, nine sacks and tackles for loss, 17 quarterback hits, 25 pressures and seven quarterback knockdowns.

He could become a very valuable asset in helping make sure that the Eagles keep up their defensive dominance after finishing last year ranked first in total yards per game allowed (278.4) and second in points per game allowed (17.8).

Considering he's also 32 years old, if the Eagles did want to bring Smith in, he'd likely cost much less than Sweat, despite the two putting up similar numbers.
