The Mahara Magistrate’s Court has imposed an overseas travel ban on former State Minister Prasanna Ranaweera, alongside former Kelaniya PS member Milroy Perera and former Minister Mervyn Silva’s Parliamentary Secretary, Sarath Kumara Edirisinghe, in connection with an alleged illegal state land sale.

The case involves allegations that state-owned land was fraudulently sold to a private party using forged documents.

Meanwhile, former Sri Lankan minister Mervyn Silva, who is also implicated in the case, remains in custody and has been further remanded until 24 March.

The scrutiny of these high-profile figures comes as the new Sri Lankan government continues to crack down on systemic corruption within the previous government figures.
