Patriots Trade Pitch Helps Tom Brady, Raiders Move Up in Draft

The New England Patriots have the fourth pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. With needs at various positions, the Patriots have flexibility.

In the latest Fox Sports NFL Mock Draft, the Patriots swing a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, where the Raiders move up to the fourth pick for quarterback Shedeur Sanders. New England gets the sixth pick back and makes a move to protect their quarterback Drake Maye.

The Patriots help a franchise legend in Tom Brady, while also reaping the rewards of a trade-down. Brady gets his quarterback, who would eventually replace recent trade acquisition Geno Smith.

For the Patriots' side of things, they land Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou. The mock draft from Fox Sports calls the trade down and selection of Membou "an ideal scenario for the Pats..."

It's hard to argue with that logic, as Membou is up for consideration at the fourth overall selection. In this mock draft from Fox Sports, the Patriots get one of their top targets, while also acquiring extra draft capital.

The Patriots draft picks are the 38th overall selection in round two, picks 69 and 77 in round three, pick 106 in the fourth round, the 144th pick in the fifth round, and three seventh-round picks at 217, 220, and 238.

A trade-down would strengthen that haul and could allow the Patriots to be aggressive in a trade-up of their own.

This proposed mock draft trade between the Patriots and the Raiders is a win-win. Raiders and Brady land their quarterback of the future, while the Patriots get one of their top targets and acquire extra draft capital.
