Tottenham consider Everton star as an alternative for Rayan Ait-Nouri

Everton left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko has emerged as a target for Tottenham ahead of the summer transfer window

Tottenham Hotspur are building a youth-based squad, which was compounded during the winter transfer window with deals for Antonin Kinsky and Mathys Tel, while South Korean talent Yang Min-hyeok officially joined the club at the start of 2025.

At the same time, Spurs also need some proven Premier League campaigners to guide the young talents and help them grow at the club. After a torrid 2024/25 season, some big changes are expected to happen when the transfer window reopens for business this summer. Regardless of Ange Postecoglou’s uncertain future, the Hotspur Way chiefs have started putting plans in place for the upcoming transfer window.

Spurs are eyeing left-back reinforcements this summer and have set their sights on Wolverhampton Wanderers star Rayan Ait-Nouri. They are reportedly preparing an opening bid of £35m for the defender, although Wolves value him around €50/60 million. This could complicate negotiations between the two clubs, and thus, the Lilywhites also have other targets in mind.

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make an opening bid for Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri.

According to an exclusive report from The Boy Hotspur, Everton’s Vitaliy Mykolenko has emerged as one of the alternative targets to Ait-Nouri, with the other being Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez.

Vitaliy Mykolenko has been a part of the Everton squad since January 2022. He arrived from Dynamo Kyiv and has racked up 114 appearances for the Toffees thus far, scoring three goals and assisting twice. The Ukraine international has played key roles in helping the club maintain top-flight status in the last two seasons.

Since David Moyes returned to Goodison Park in January, Mykolenko has been one of Everton’s most reliable players—contributing both defensively and offensively. The 25-year-old’s ability to make an impact at both ends of the pitch, coupled with his solid Premier League experience, make him a good alternative target to Ait-Nouri for Tottenham.

Spurs are set to bid goodbye to both Sergio Reguilon and Ben Davies as their contracts expire at the end of the season, potentially leaving the boss with just one left-back in Destiny Udogie. While Djed Spence can operate at left-back and Archie Gray has filled in that position several times this season, signing a left-footed full-back would work well for the North Londoners.

As Mykolenko will enter the final year of his contract at Everton in July, Tottenham could land him in a cut-price deal. At 25, the Ukrainian is at the right age to make the step up in his career and a potential move to Spurs would represent that.

That being said, if the Hotspur Way chiefs fail to land Ait-Nouri from Wolves, they must not hesitate to go all out for the Everton star.
