Manchester United made it four games unbeaten in all competitions with a 3-0 win against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
Manager Ruben Amorim made a couple of changes to freshen the starting lineup up following their midweek Europa League triumph against Real Sociedad.
The visitors began the game brightly with the experienced Christian Eriksen hitting the bar with a curling effort.
Rasmus Hojlund ended his goal drought to put his side in front with a driven effort on his weaker right foot.
In the second half the Red Devils continued to look dangerous during transitions with Alejandro Garnacho finding the back of the net, although his goal was chalked off due to him being in an offside position.
However, the Argentine did put an end to his goal drought midway through the second half and in the dying minutes Bruno Fernandes capped a fine team performance with an emphatic finish.
Here are the key takeaways from the contest.
Forwards end their goal drought
While Fernandes will receive the majority of plaudits for his man of the match performance, it was a huge night for Garnacho and Hojlund, who both ended their respective goal droughts.
In recent weeks the pair had received heavy criticism for their wastefulness in front of goal. Pundits and fans had even suggested that the two youngsters were unable to handle the pressure of playing for such a big club.
However, in this contest, Garnacho and Hojlund began to win fans back by finding the back of the net. Hojlund picked up where he left off against Sociedad, seamlessly linking play and providing an outlet.
The Danish striker found the back of net and got the goal, which he needed so desperately, after being picked out by Fernandes. Likewise, Garnacho put an end to his troubles in front of goal and was assisted by the captain.
First clean sheet in 10 matches
A huge positive for Amorim will be the fact his side managed to keep their first clean sheet in 10 matches. The Reds defence have leaked a significant amount of goals this season, but this was one of their best defensive performances albeit against one of the worst attacks in the league.
The back three of Matthijs de Ligt, Victor Lindelof and Ayden Heaven were formidable at all times. Both De Ligt and Heaven made last ditch blocks, which prevented almost certain goals.
Wingbacks Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot picked up where they left off against Sociedad, providing an attacking outlet and getting back into position to defend.
Fernandes surpasses 30 goal contributions
Fernandes has hit back against criticism, which suggested he wasn’t a good leader, with some scintillating displays. The skipper rarely got out of second gear against Leicester, but still managed to get three goal contributions.
The Portugal international now has 31 goal contributions in all competitions, despite being in a United side which has struggled for the majority of the season. His first assist was a lofted through ball over the top of the opposition defence.
The 30-year-old's second assist had an element of luck, but this was a deserved goal contribution, which highlighted his incredible work rate and perseverance.
Fernandes was already heading towards the man of the match award before he fired into the side of the goal from the edge of the box with a trademark finish.
Heaven injury blow
Heaven has come into a struggling team and won over the Old Trafford faithful immediately. Following an impressive display against Sociedad, the teenager was handed his first Premier League start.
There were doubts about whether Heaven would be able to cope with the physicality of the Premier League, however the defender put an end to these doubts with a fantastic performance. He was composed on the ball and was unfazed about the prospect of facing veteran Jamie Vardy.
However, following a tangle in the box, Heaven was unable to get back to his feet and had to be stretched off. This will be a huge blow for Amorim, who is already without several of his first-team squad, who remain sidelined with various injuries.
