The names on the back of the jerseys may have changed, but the rivalry remains as the Miami Heat (29-38) will travel to the East Coast on Monday to face a long-time foe, the New York Knicks (42-24) at Madison Square Garden.

Despite losing seven straight contests, the Miami Heat find themselves in the playoff race. As the current No. 9 seed, they'd still be part of the NBA's Play-In Tournament. They'll have to reverse their fortunes to stay there, specifically on the defensive end. In their most recent game against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Heat allowed the Grizzlies to shoot 55.4% from the field, en route to a 125-91 blowout. Kel'el Ware led the team with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Bam Adebayo added 18. Andrew Wiggins left with an injury and is listed as day-to-day.
For New York, a two-game win streak was snapped at the hands of Stephen Curry (28 points, seven rebounds, five assists) and the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night, in a very low-scoring affair for this era of basketball (97-94). Karl-Anthony Towns scored 29 points to go with 12 rebounds and three assists as the Knicks await the return of their star point guard Jalen Brunson, who could be out another two weeks.
This will be the third and final regular-season matchup between the Heat and Knicks, with New York winning both of the previous games in Miami.
