NFL Draft expert spurns Georgia star from first round grade

The 2025 NFL Draft is quickly approaching. Georgia football's future pros have gone through both the NFL Combine and Georgia's Pro Day, so now it's just a matter of waiting for the draft to get here at the end of April.

Georgia routinely is one of the programs with the most draft picks every year, and that will not be different this time around. Sure they may not challenge their record set in 2022 when a record 15 Bulldogs were selected, but Georgia should still hit the double digit mark again this year.

This includes multiple players selected in the first round, which again isn't anything too crazy to happen to Georgia. But one of those Bulldogs who most project to be taken in the first round was not given a first round draft grade by ESPN NFL Draft analyst Matt Miller.

Malaki Starks is missing

Miller gave two Bulldogs first round grads, which includes Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams. No one will be surprised to see those two superstars included, but every Georgia fan must be wondering where Malaki Starks is.

Starks is regarded as the No. 1 safety in this year's draft class. That is still the case even after he was labeled a "loser" from the NFL Combine largely because of his elite performance at Georgia's Pro Day last week. But to not be given a first round grade one month out from the NFL Draft is borderline crazy.

To be fair to Miller, he only gave 14 players first round grades in his latest update, and no safety was included in that group. But Starks likely is one of the 14 best players in the NFL Draft this year, and there is a great chance he will even be taken in the top 14 of the draft as well.

Miller will likely expand upon his first round grades as the NFL Draft inches closer, so it may just be a matter of time until Starks is included, but not including the best safety at this point in the draft process doesn't feel right.
