Pelicans Make Zion Williamson Announcement Before Pistons Game

The Detroit Pistons are set for a matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night as they look to bounce back from two straight losses.

With a 37-31 record through 68 showings, the Pistons are on track to secure the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference -- dodging the Play-In Tournament for a playoff spot one year removed from a bottom-table finish.

The Pelicans have been nothing short of abysmal this season, which can be attributed to the plethora of injuries they've had to deal with.

When healthy, Zion Williamson has proven to be the elite player everyone thought he could be when he was drafted. The club has an 18-50 record, though, which is putrid when considering the expectations they held coming into the season.

Detroit should be able to win the game regardless, but Williamson was listed as questionable heading into the game, dealing with personal reasons.

Williamson is every bit of life for the Pelicans -- who have plenty riding upon his availability.

This season has seen Williamson miss plenty of time, though when he's been on the court, he's looked to be in the best shape of his entire career.

The Pistons, on the other hand, are looking to continue their superb season and eventually playoff berth -- and beating New Orleans could help them regain momentum.
