Patriots Meet ‘at Length’ With USC Running Back During Pro Day

One of the areas where the New England Patriots are looking to add during the 2025 NFL Draft is the running back position. At the USC pro day, the Patriots met with one of their running back options.

According to Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, the Patriots and Jo'Quavious Marks met "at length," during which the Patriots had Marks do some whiteboard work. The meeting with Marks at the USC pro day could indicate what the Patriots will do in the 2025 NFL Draft.

For Marks, the USC pro day was a rainy, cold ordeal. With Marks having athletic testing done at the NFL Scouting Combine, he didn't put too much weight into his testing from the poor conditions at his pro day.

Marks, who will be 24 in the 2025 NFL Draft, is one of the older prospects. He has played five college football seasons, four at Mississippi State and his last at USC in 2024.

Marks was a starter at Mississippi State but never had more than 600 yards. That changed drastically in 2024 with USC.

During his time at USC, Marks had 1,133 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 198 attempts, which is reasonable at 5.7 yards per attempt.

According to Pro Football Focus, Marks forced 34 missed tackles and had 36 attempts for more than ten yards. He also made his mark as a receiver, hauling 47 receptions for 321 yards. He also had only one fumble all year.

His 2024 is a major boost to his draft stock, and the Patriots' interest in meeting at length with Marks could lead to his coming to New England.

Marks is expected to be a day three pick, likely in the six- to seven-round range in the 2025 NFL Draft. The draft starts on April 24th and ends on Saturday, April 26th, with rounds four through seven, during which Marks could become a Patriot.
