Major Green Bay conservation event days before NFL Draft

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Days before the NFL Draft, hundreds of volunteers will help in environmental conservation efforts around Green Bay.

The event will happen on April 22, which is Earth Day.

Most of the work will happen at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, but other parks will also see a cleanup.

The City of Green Bay is partnering with AmeriCorps for tree planting, trail improvements, and invasive species removal.

“We’ll be cleaning up the park system and hitting all of the major parks in the area, not only in Green Bay but near and around Lambeau Field to really improve the quality of those park systems,” Maria Otto, conservation corps coordinator said.

Organizers are looking for 325 volunteers.

You can pre-register through the Green Bay City website.
