The election took place from March 15-20 in Tucson, Arizona, the U.S.

In 2020, he received neuro-ophthalmology training at Houston Methodist Hospital within the Texas Medical Center. Since then, he has focused on both clinical practice and research in the field of neuro-ophthalmology. In the first half of 2024, he won an academic award in the neuro-ophthalmology field at the Korean Ophthalmological Society's academic conference. He also achieved the prestigious Best Oral Presentation Award at the 2024 Asian Neuro-Ophthalmology Society conference held in December at the Hong Kong Convention Center, presenting a study on "Clinical Aspects of Visual Snow Patients in East Asia."
Visual snow, a challenging condition in neuro-ophthalmology, has been a major focus for Professor Shin, who completed a master class hosted by the U.S. Visual Snow Initiative. He is currently conducting clinical trials on an electroceutical for visual snow.
Professor Shin stated, "Through my election as a NANOS Fellow Member, I will further expand the global network in the field of neuro-ophthalmology and contribute to the development of neuro-ophthalmology in Korea."
