Tottenham have been criticised after their defeat to Fulham on Sunday.
Tottenham have been hammered for their sluggish efforts against London rivals Fulham on Sunday. Spurs conceded two second half goals to lose at Craven Cottage, slipping to 14th place and behind Manchester United.
Ange Postecoglou appeared downbeat after the game, expressing his disappointment over going into another international break on the back of a defeat.
He said: “I said to the players, I'm not going to let anyone just think about Europa and nothing else. We can't let this league season go the way it has. We've lost way too many games, unacceptable.
"I understand the supporters' frustrations with that. It was another day where we let a game get away from us when we shouldn't. We had chances to go 1-0 up which would have put pressure on them, then they scored a really soft goal. The opposition haven't blown us off the park. For 75 minutes we were where we wanted to be, the fact we come out of that game with nothing is disappointing."
Meanwhile, Match of the Day 2 pundit Wayne Rooney expressed his thoughts on the defeat and Tottenham’s lacklustre efforts to recover the ball and close gaps.
“I think on this goal as well, if you look at Djed Spence and his positioning, he’s actually in a good position,” he said. “Here, Sessegnon is out wide so he knows where he is, he can see him but for some reason, he closes his body off and switches off so he doesn’t see him. But at this moment here, Djed Spence will see him. Ange is calling for offside, which its never offside. He doesn’t react, he doesn’t get back, Davies is one-v-one. He’s running away from goal, he runs 13 yards the wrong way. If he gets back, he takes the ball off Sessegnon’s foot there.
“So, I think that was a theme all game with Tottenham. There was no reaction to losing the ball, there was no energy, there was no fight, no desire and if the manager has made changes and brought players in to try and fight for the players when they do come into the squad for the Europa League if he’s saying the league is done, they have to do better.”
