Rasmus Hojlund scored his first Premier League goal since December during their 3-0 win against Leicester City.

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund ended a goal drought that lasted three months during the Red Devils’ victory against Leicester City over the weekend. United won 3-0 against Leicester to leave them 13th in the Premier League, seven points off the top half of the table, heading into the March international break.

The Danish international scored United’s opening goal at the King Power Stadium after 28 minutes. It was his first since early December when he netted against Nottingham Forest. Hojlund now has eight goals in 39 appearances for Man United this season, netting just three in the Premier League.

Hojlund names the player he loves to play alongside

After the win against Leicester on Sunday night, Hojlund was relieved that he’d managed to end his goal drought after over three months without finding the net.

He said: “I'm happy, but it's not all about goals. I'm obviously very happy to get my goal today and it gives me a lot of confidence.”

Hojlund picked out one United teammate that he loves to play alongside, after they linked up well during the 3-0 win. He said that he enjoys playing with Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee, who has shown signs of improvement as of late under Ruben Amorim.

“Obviously, we didn't get to play too much together in the beginning of the season,” Hojlund added. “But now he's starting to play in a different sort of role or position and he can still do the other part, but playing together with him is very nice.

“He's a lovely lad and, yeah, I think competition is a good thing, but I think we also support each other's qualities very well. And, yeah, I love playing with all my teammates, but, yeah, he's also one of them.”

Hojlund and Zirkzee have combined for just six goals in the Premier League this season. But they will hope that a better outing against Leicester could help boost their confidence and lead to more goals soon.

United set to keep hold of Hojlund despite transfer rumours

Hojlund’s future has been uncertain this season due to his struggles to find consistent form under both Erik Ten Hag and since Amorim. Due to his form, United have been linked to signing several strikers including Crystal Palace’s Jean Philippe-Mateta, Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres and Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen.

However, despite the fact that United look set to add a striker in the summer transfer window, reports have said that they will keep Rasmus Hojlund. According to TeamTalk, Man United aren’t actively looking to sell the Danish international. The report says that they still think he has a very high-potential aged just 22.

Furthermore, if they were to sell him now, based on his form, it would be a price that would result in the club making a loss with regard to Profit and Sustainability Rules, something that the Red Devils can’t afford to do.

In other news, a United player has made the Premier League team of the week after the Leicester City win as he picked up an impressive 9.4/10 rating.
