In what was possibly the sloppiest game of the Minnesota Timberwolves' 2024-25 season, they lost to the Indiana Pacers 132 to 130.
It was a disappointing result for Minnesota, considering the Pacers had an incomplete lineup. Obi Toppin was the standout for Indiana, hitting two clutch threes in overtime to complete his 34-point and 10-rebound double-double.
Before this game, the Timberwolves were the hottest team in the league, having an eight-game winning streak. Unfortunately, Minnesota did not look like that during this game against the Pacers.
To double down on the disappointment, the Pacers were missing their star players Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, and Myles Turner.

The Timberwolves Were Flat Against The Pacers
Even though the Timberwolves had a gaudy scoreline of 130 points and had five players scoring in double figures, Anthony Edwards led the charge with 38 points, but he struggled from long range with only one make from 11 attempts.
Most people expected Minnesota to dominate this game because the Pacers had multiple star players on the sidelines. Unfortunately, the Timberwolves had a flat performance, as they let the Pacers build momentum.
It also does not help that Rudy Gobert got ejected from this game after committing a flagrant foul penalty 2 on Andrew Nembhard. The Pacers guard also got ejected in the third quarter, but the team stepped up and still won.
Indiana got everything they wanted in the game because they had space to sprint into. Minnesota had barely any control in the game, leading to the surprising loss and ending the winning streak.

The Timberwolves Must Bounce Back
With a game against the New Orleans Pelicans coming up on Wednesday, Minnesota has a good opportunity to bounce back.
They need to perform better because the first few quarters against Orlando and this game against Indiana were alarming. The team must step up and show why they were one of the most impressive teams in recent weeks.
On both offense and defense, the Timberwolves must show their quality and discipline. They already have the talent and a good coach in Chris Finch, the players need to deliver on the court.
Also, Minnesota and Indiana will be playing again next week on Monday. That time, it will be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, which should be a good opportunity for the Timberwolves' payback.
