Wrexham are gunning for another promotion under Phil Parkinson with another enthralling end-of-season run-in coming.
Wrexham fans have become used to these end-of-season charges towards promotion.
Phil Parkinson’s side came up short in 2022 but promotions in 2023 and 2024 leave Wrexham in League One.
Wrexham beat Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 on Saturday afternoon with Sam Smith firing home the only goal of the game.
That leaves Wrexham in second place and hoping to charge towards promotion in the final nine games of the League One season.
Wycombe could go back ahead of Wrexham with victory over Rotherham United on Tuesday night, but Parkinson will have a third promotion in his sights.

Stuart Webber sends Wrexham warning
There are bound to be twists and turns to come but Wrexham are right in the mix.
Rob McElhenney is backing Wrexham for another promotion – a third in a row – and the end of the season is now in sight.
MORE WREXHAM STORIES
Troy Deeney has doubted Wrexham’s Premier League aspirations and Stuart Webber has now offered his view.
Webber was once working as Wrexham’s head of youth development before heading onto Liverpool, Queens Park Rangers and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 40-year-old became Director of Football at Huddersfield Town in 2015, helping mastermind their promotion to the Premier League.
Webber most recently worked as sporting director at Norwich City, again featuring in promotions to the Premier League.
Webber has now told ESPN that Wrexham’s rise has been ‘amazing’ – but has offered a warning about another promotion.
A comparison towards Ipswich Town has been completed played down by Webber, who highlighted that the Tractors Boys spent much more than Wrexham in League One.
Webber noted that some Wrexham players have been in the side since the National League days and feels that it would be ‘quite naive’ to think that Wrexham can challenge in the Championship on momentum alone.
“The step-up to the Championship is huge, and I think what people have to remember about Wrexham, which has been an amazing story so far, is that some of their players were with them in the National League,” said Webber.
“Outsiders will automatically look at the success of Ipswich, who did the double-promotion, but they did spend a lot of money in League One and brought very good Championship-level players in. Wrexham haven’t really done that: they’ve done it on more of a budget.
“They spent big money to get out of the National League and the same to get out of League Two, but less so this time around, so to expect them to go up and then be super-competitive based purely on momentum, it would be quite naive to think that,” he added.
How Stuart Webber left Wrexham for Liverpool
Webber hails from Aberystwyth and no doubt still holds Wrexham close to his heart.
Speaking to Training Ground Guru in 2023, Webber admitted that his move from Wrexham to Liverpool was influenced by Steve Cooper.
Cooper coached in the Wrexham academy before heading to Liverpool, just part of his journey towards becoming a Premier League manager.
Webber felt that he just couldn’t turn the job down, believing that joining Liverpool was a potential once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“Steve Cooper moved to Liverpool and recommended me to a guy called Malcolm Elias, who was Liverpool’s Head of Youth Recruitment,” said Webber.
“Malcolm offered me a job and then Frank McParland came in and I went and met him for the afternoon and thankfully he still wanted to take me on, in their scouting department.
“At that time I was Head of Youth at Wrexham and coaching their Under-18s with Joey Jones. But I thought, ‘You might never get the chance to work for a club like this again,’ he added.
Wrexham’s full focus will be on promotion from League One before even thinking about what is needed to get out of the Championship.
Webber knows what it takes to win promotion to the Premier League though and Wrexham will likely agree with his stance that major additions will be needed this summer if promotion is secured.
