David Moyes has prompted action as Everton chase West Bromwich Albion attacker Tom Fellows.

Everton have reportedly reignited their interest in West Brom winger Tom Fellows with manager David Moyes keen on adding depth and quality in attack.

Fellows is currently enjoying his best season to date with two goals and 11 assists in 37 Championship matches so far in 2024/25, following on from a breakthrough 2023/24 campaign which returned four goals and three assists in 33 league appearances.

Not a guaranteed starter every week but preferred on the right flank to Jed Wallace, Fellows has been progressing nicely at The Hawthorns. The 21-year-old hasn’t scored as often as he would’ve liked but his creative numbers have been exceptional for a player of his inexperience.

Everton have been heavily linked with Fellows in each of the last two transfer windows and their interest is now set to carry over into the summer. There were mixed reports on the most recent Deadline Day as The Independent claimed the Toffees had submitted a £15 million bid to sign Fellows, while Birmingham World sources later confirmed that was nonsense.

The Sun now reports Everton are determined to land Fellows ahead of next season with Moyes recently sending Alan Irvine - formerly West Brom’s manager - and Charlie Adam on a mission to watch the winger in action.

The two scouts were deployed at the recent 1-1 draw away at Burnley but went home disappointed as Fellows missed the game through compassionate leave. It’s suggested Irvine and Adam came to watch the 1-1 draw with Hull City instead, seeing Fellows come on for a 30-minute cameo at The Hawthorns.

West Brom’s Fellows stance now unclear

In January, Albion maintained a very certain stance that Fellows was not for sale mid-season but that could change come the summer. Mowbray is loving working with Fellows but the head coach - involved in the recruitment process - has often gone about his transfer business in a calculated manner at former teams, sometimes selling key players for the overall benefit of the football clubs.

During his previous spell at The Hawthorns, for instance, Mowbray hold high-profile players Curtis Davies, Diomansy Kamara and Jason Koumas to Premier League sides to raise funds for 14 permanent and loan signings in one summer transfer window. The signings completed as a result included Albion legends Chris Brunt and James Morrison for a combined £4.5 million.

That’s not to say Mowbray will definitely sell Fellows to Everton or another interested party, but the head coach is likely to consider the possibility if a significant enough bid is received. After all, if West Brom fail to win the play-offs this season, they could really do with a proper overhaul to build towards a proper promotion push.

The Baggies have been unable to splash the cash in recent years due to loan debts. Although new owner Shilen Patel has worked hard to resolve that situation, the piggy bank is far from full. Selling Fellows for a significant fee - perhaps upwards of £20 million - could be a game-changing decision, albeit unpopular.

In other news, the stunning sum West Brom could receive if promoted to the Premier League has been unveiled.
