SYDNEY -- The office of Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong said Tuesday that letters allegedly sent to Australian residents offering a 1 million Hong Kong dollar ($126,700) reward for the capture of a Hong Kong-Australian citizen were "deeply worrying" and "completely unacceptable."
Wong's office was referring to reports of anonymous letters received last week by Melbourne residents seeking information about Kevin Yam, a prominent pro-democracy activist and lawyer wanted by the Hong Kong government for alleged offenses related to national security.
