Anthony Gordon gets his Wembley moment with Newcastle United fans
But it was not just about the players who featured in the Carabao Cup final.
There was also a moment for Anthony Gordon, who was suspended for the final against Liverpool.
While the 24-year-old was not able to play in the final, he was certainly part of the celebrations.
Gordon donned a ‘WINNERS 25’ shirt alongside his teammates, before getting an opportunity to soak in the adulation from the Toon Army inside Wembley.

As the Newcastle United squad paraded the trophy around the pitch, Gordon was given the chance to take centre stage. He thrust the trophy into the air, as supporters chanted back his name to the tune of Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes.
The winger deserved that moment, despite not playing in the final. Without him, we would not have made it to the final.
Gordon was pivotal in the semi-final, scoring in both legs of the win over Arsenal. Those goals made him a crucial part of Newcastle United’s history.
You could see what it meant to Gordon, as he lifted the first major trophy of his career. Hopefully it is the first of many.
When Newcastle fans will next see Anthony Gordon play
Toon fans do not need to wait long until they can see Gordon play again.
He could feature for England on Friday night, having been named in Thomas Tuchel’s first ever Three Lions squad alongside Dan Burn and Tino Livramento.
England face Albania on Friday night, then they are in action again on Monday against Latvia. Both games are at Wembley, where Gordon had to watch from the stands on Sunday.
In terms of playing for Newcastle United, Gordon’s next appearance will not be until April 7th when the Magpies face Leicester City away from home.
He will serve the final game of his three-match suspension against Brentford on April 2nd.
