Mason Mount has issued a heart-warming message to a Manchester United teammate after taking an important step on his road to recovery.

Mount was named on the bench for United's 3-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League at the weekend. The England international had been on the sidelines for almost three months with injury before featuring in the matchday squad to take on the Foxes.

The 2-1 win over Manchester City on December 12 in the Premier League was Mount's last appearance for United.

The 26-year-old has been restricted to just 12 appearances this season but will be hoping to play a key role in the last two months of the campaign.

Ruben Amorim did not bring Mount into the game but did hand a Premier League debut to Harry Amass.

The teenager, who turned 18 on the same day as United's win over Leicester, made a 21-minute cameo after replacing Alejandro Garnacho at the King Power Stadium and became the club's 253rd academy graduate in the process.

Amass eventually took to social media to issue a message after making his long-awaited debut for United. "Amazing feeling to make my debut for such a massive club and a great win for the team," wrote the 18-year-old on Instagram.

Mount took two opportunities to send a message to Amass after his teammate's senior debut for United. The former Chelsea star left a comment on Amass' post which read: "Day to remember, congrats brother."

It was also on his own Instagram story where Mount sent another message to Amass. Using a screengrab of Amass' post, Mount added a caption which read: "Proud of you brother," accompanied by a heart emoji.

Both Amass and Mount will hope to get more minutes for United when they return after the international break.

United are not back in action until April 1 when they face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League clash at the City Ground.
