Liverpool are still recovering from their Carabao Cup final defeat to Newcastle.
The Reds never turned up to their Wembley showpiece with the Tyneside club as Eddie Howe’s men defeated the Premier League leaders to claim their first domestic trophy in 70 years.
That capped off a terrible week for Liverpool having exited the Champions League as well to Paris Saint-Germain and fans of the club will now want to see their hunt for the Premier League done and dusted.
Not even 24 hours had passed and talk over the futures of several stars began, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Luis Diaz could leave Liverpool this summer.
The contract situations of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield were also discussed and Robbie Fowler has backtracked on a theory he once had about the Reds trio.

Robbie Fowler is worried about the future of Liverpool trio
Liverpool will continue contract talks with Van Dijk and Salah over the international break as the Merseyside club hope to keep the duo ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Van Dijk’s comments after Liverpool’s defeat to PSG have cast doubt over whether the defender will be at Anfield next season and Fowler has admitted that he is pessimistic about the situation.
Speaking on talkSPORT after the Carabao Cup final, the Liverpool legend stated that he believes none of the Reds trio will sign new deals.

“I think it’s poor from a club the size of Liverpool, to sort of be in this position, first and foremost that’s obviously a different conversation,” Fowler stated.
“I mean, I’ve been on talkSPORT with Jim and obviously Simon before and spoke about these players. From a Liverpool fan point of view, you are mega, mega disappointed If any of them don’t sign.
“I don’t think the three of them will, if I’m being totally honest, but you know, it’s going to be one of those things with Liverpool now, and certainly after the performance yesterday from some of the players we didn’t see, I think Arne Slot knows he’s maybe going to have a big summer plan.”
This is a different outlook the former Liverpool striker once had on the situation of the trio as the pundit had a ‘little theory’ at the start of the year about how the Merseyside club were handling the contracts saga.
Robbie Fowler backtracks on ‘little theory’ he had on contracts saga at Liverpool
Many fans believe that Van Dijk and Salah will remain at Liverpool next season, while Alexander-Arnold makes the move to Real Madrid over the summer as the La Liga champions have a very strong interest in the right-back.
Fowler previously believed that two of the three Liverpool players had agreed deals with Liverpool and that the Merseyside club were not announcing it as they did not want the other star to look bad.
“It’s no inside information, but I do have a little theory, and I don’t know if this is far from the truth, but I think two of them have signed already for some reason, and one hasn’t, due to the simple fact that the club can’t come out and say: ‘You have signed because it makes the other one look worse.’”
It seems that the Reds legend has backtracked from that viewpoint as everyone associated with the Premier League leaders is starting to get a bit worried with the season heading into April.
