Evan Ferguson hasn’t had the desired impact since his move to West Ham in the winter transfer window.
The forward has made five appearances, mostly from the bench and is yet to get off the mark in claret and blue since joining on loan from Brighton.
The 20-year-old is away on international duty with the Republic of Ireland now, which could serve as the perfect chance to show Graham Potter what he can do.

Ferguson set for more bench warming
Ferguson’s Republic of Ireland have two games ahead this week as they face Bulgaria on Thursday and Sunday.
For some, an international break at this point in the season is tough as it breaks up momentum in what can be a crucial part of the season.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
However, for players like Ferguson, both he and Potter at West Ham will probably be glad of a change of scenery and the hope of building some form and fitness.

Evan Ferguson has struggled to get going with West Ham.
Unfortunately for Ferguson though, he may not be set to reap the full benefits an international break can bring.
According to the Irish Times (17 March), despite assistant manager John O’Shea calling Ferguson sharp in training, it would be a “major surprise” to see him start in the Nations League fixtures that lie ahead.
O’Shea expressed his shock at the 20-year-old’s lack of game time before as he said: “Especially a former manager that obviously knows him well. But listen, there is big competition for places at Premier League clubs and obviously, they probably felt there was a little niggling injury where they had to build up fitness too.
“Hopefully that will improve towards the end of the season and we will see Evan get more starts for the club. That will help massively.”

Ferguson needs to get going for West Ham
The addition of Ferguson in the winter transfer window certainly seemed more exciting than it has turned out to be so far.
As O’Shea points out, the youngster needs to build up some fitness and game time before he can really get going but with limited time left this term, he has to do this sooner rather than later.
The Hammers have picked up some better results of late but remain inconsistent and having another option at the top which proves to be reliable could have a big impact for West Ham.
It makes sense why Ferguson doesn’t look set for too much game time on international duty but Potter probably would have been hoping he could get some minutes and come back to East London refreshed.
The Irons boss will be thinking about his plans for the summer transfer window and one thing’s for sure, Ferguson will have to up his levels if he wants to be considered as part of the plans.
