What the Newcastle United players did to Lewis Hall after he completely missed the Carabao Cup…

Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall completely missed the Carabao Cup final.

The 20-year-old is out of action with a foot injury, with Lewis Hall set to miss the rest of the season.

It is a massive blow for a player who has been playing so well, and it is even more agonising as it forced him to miss the Carabao Cup final.

Hall had surgery last week, which meant he was not at Wembley with the rest of his Newcastle United teammates as they made history.

Newcastle beat Liverpool to win the Carabao Cup, with Tino Livramento thriving at left-back in the absence of Hall.

Lewis Hall’s Wembley moment after missing Carabao Cup final

But while Hall was not at Wembley, he was included in the celebrations.

Jacob Murphy has posted a series of photos from Newcastle United’s win over Liverpool, posing with his medal on the pitch, in the dressing room and at BOXPARK alongside his twin brother Josh.

In the third picture, Jamaal Lascelles is seen holding a phone up to Sean Longstaff’s face, with Lewis Hall on FaceTime. The young defender is beaming, as he picks up the first trophy of his career.

While Hall was not involved in the final, he had played in every other round on the road to Wembley. He will be getting a medal – it is just a shame he was not able to be at Wembley to receive it in person.

Other injured Newcastle United players were at Wembley

Newcastle United are also currently without Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles due to injury, but they were able to be at Wembley for the final.

Lascelles got to lift the trophy alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier, which was a fitting moment for a man who has led the club during some difficult moments.

It remains to be seen when he will return to fitness, with Eddie Howe insisting that Lascelles will be back soon. The 31-year-old has almost missed a full year due to an ACL injury, and is on course to become a free agent this summer.

As for Botman, he is expected to be back before the end of the season. On March 7th, Howe stated that Botman was undergoing surgery and would be out for eight weeks.
