Jack Harrison replacement lined up – Leeds United have a decision to make in the summer

Leeds United are in a tough three-way fight for an automatic promotion spot in the Championship. The Whites are still leading the race and are one of the favourites to get the job down with eight games left in the season. Leeds hope to be in the Premier League next season and recruitment decisions are being made with a view of being a top-flight club. Recruitment is going to be key if Leeds get promoted but they also need to bring in money through player sales. Jack Harrison has been identified as one of the players they could move on in the summer, but there is uncertainty surrounding his future ahead of the transfer window.

The winger has been on loan at Everton since 2023 and has shown little inclination towards ever returning to Leeds United where he still has a contract until 2028.

Everton have not been impressed with his performances over the last two seasons and are unlikely to take up the option to sign him on a permanent contract.

A record of five goals and three assists in 64 appearances for Everton is nothing to write home about and it seems the Toffees are already lining up a replacement for him.

Everton have identified a Championship winger to replace the Leeds United star

David Moyes is known for shopping in the Championship for players throughout his managerial career and it seems he is set to do the same in the summer.

The Everton boss is ready to let Harrison return to Leeds and the club are stepping up on efforts to secure a replacement for the Whites winger ahead of the transfer window.

According to journalist Alan Nixon (cited by GiveMeSport), Everton are keeping tabs on West Brom winger Tom Fellows ahead of a potential move in the summer.

The 21-year-old winger has impressed with the Baggies this season and has eleven assists to his name in 37 Championship appearances in the ongoing campaign.

His performances have piqued the interest of Everton and Moyes did send scouts to watch the West Brom star in action last week.

West Brom are fighting for a place in the playoff spots again and Fellows has been a key player for the club this season.

Leeds have a tough decision to make on Harrison

It seems all but certain Harrison doesn’t have a future at Everton beyond the end of the season and Leeds now have a big call to make.

Some have suggested if the Whites get promoted, the winger could be a good squad player given his experience of playing in the Premier League for both Leeds and Everton.

However, the former Manchester City winger is not the same player who helped Leeds get promoted and even looked good in the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa.

His goal contributions at Everton haven’t touched double figures in close to two seasons and Leeds would need players who could make a difference in the final third if they get promoted.

Harrison’s standing amongst the Leeds fans has fallen as well and they are in no mood to welcome him back given the way he escaped the club following their relegation.
