The future of Kobbie Mainoo at Manchester United has been a topic of discussion over the past few weeks.
The England midfielder has reportedly been looking for a more competitive wage given his increased status in the squad and the England national team.
Mainoo has two years left on his United contract, with the club having the option to extend it by a further year.
English Premier League rivals Chelsea have been linked with a move for Kobbie Mainoo as questions arise over what the future holds for the Manchester United academy graduate.
One of the reasons why some have suggested the club may look to cash in on the player is due to his status as a homegrown player.
Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) mean that any sale of Kobbie Mainoo would be classed as pure profit.

With the current dire state of the finances at Old Trafford, Mainoo is one of the assets who could bring in some much needed funds.
And it seems that may be the case.
According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has named a number of planned and possible departures from United in the summer – with the name of Kobbie Mainoo firmly on the list.
Other names include Casemiro, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen.
These exits, whether planned or under consideration, would ease the wage bill and allow United to be more aggressive in investing in the transfer market.
In addition to these departures, the potential sales of Marcus Rashford and Antony could further boost United’s transfer budget.
Rashford has been linked with a move away following an inconsistent season, while Antony has struggled to justify his hefty price tag since arriving from Ajax.
Both players have been shining in their respective loans spells away from Manchester and likely have driven their values up considerably further.
Offloading Marcus Rashford and Antony would provide the club with even greater financial flexibility to target reinforcements in key areas.
With INEOS now overseeing football operations at Old Trafford, United are expected to make strategic moves in the transfer market.
Strengthening the squad remains a priority, particularly in midfield and up front, as Ruben Amorim looks to reshape the team ahead of the new season.
It was reported than United was looking to offload Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho during the January transfer window with many fans up in arms about this.
While the club has yet to finalise their list of targets, their ability to spend will largely depend on how many players they can offload in the coming months.
🚨🔴 Manchester United are confident that they will be able to invest in top transfers this summer, especially as the budget will be freed up through the possible and planned departures of Victor #Lindelöf, #Casemiro, Christian #Eriksen, and Kobbie #Mainoo.
