“Sent scouts” | ExWHUEmployee | Hammers eye Championship defenders

**West Ham are targeting Championship players ahead of the expected busy summer transfer window, its been reported by ExWHUEmployee.**

Following what is to be a disappointing season for the club, its expected to be a summer of overhaul, with Graham Potter and Head of Recruitment Kyle Macaulay to steer things in a direction to suit Potter’s vision for the club which many will hope is an exciting chapter for West Ham.

As has been reported previously, the club will explore the Championship market among others, as we look to worthwhile investments, much like we have experienced prior with Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio, Crysencio Summerville and Aaron Cresswell all arriving from the second tier of English football.

Our club insider ExWHUEmployee, who was reporting exclusively on The West Ham Way Podcast, has revealed that the club are monitoring Burnley at present, particularly their defence, who have been outstanding in the Championship this season under former Hammer Scott Parker.

“The club are monitoring a number of players from the Burnley side, who’s defensive record has been incredible,” said Ex. “Bashir Humphreys, Maxime Estève and CJ Egan-Riley are all defenders we are very keen on, as well as goalkeeper James Trafford.

“Humphreys is a very interesting one as he is actually on a season long loan from Chelsea and is also a client of Will Salthouse – an agent we have worked with plenty of times over the years.

“He is a player we are looking at and have sent scouts to monitor.”
