Everton will be in disbelief as Sky Sports make bizarre request after points deduction saga -…

Everton fans will still be fuming at the Premier League’s decision-making during their points deduction era.

It seems like the Toffees have bypassed that point now but at one point it caused uproar within the Everton fanbase.

Many fans believe Premier League chief executive Richard Masters has plenty to answer for, as Evertonians have sent messages to Masters, and not nice ones.

Luckily for David Moyes, he hasn’t landed himself in a time where the saga has continued and it seems like The Friedkin Group’s arrival has halted any signs of financial issues again.

However, what Sky Sports have just said will confuse a lot of Everton fans and certainly anger them.

Sky Sports make a bizarre request leaving Everton in disbelief

With Everton now settled in the top flight with it seemingly looking like the only way is up for the club, a team that isn’t out of the woods yet is Man City.

Many Toffees fans might feel their case has been treated differently, as Masters gave City a right to appeal their charges, something Everton never got when handed a 10-point deduction.

Well now what Sky have done will only leave fans baffled, as once again it seems like City are being treated differently.

MailOnline has revealed that Sky have urged their pundits not to ‘make snap judgements’ and to ‘stick to the facts’ before commenting on City’s case.

With the verdict of their 115 charges still not decided, the company has warned pundits such as Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, and Roy Keane to keep in mind City have a right to appeal.

This certainly makes for a stark contrast to Everton’s situation a few seasons ago, as both the Toffees and Nottingham Forest won’t take this news well as neither team got a warning from Sky when their cases were talked about.

Even though City’s case is more severe, Everton’s case was handled poorly, and it’s been a major difference in actions from both the league and Sky.

How Sky treated Everton’s case proves why warning is baffling

No doubt Sky have made the right choice here to send a message, as the outlet suggested that the move is aimed at ensuring that the broadcaster is ‘accurate, fair, and balanced in its reporting’, whilst avoiding controversy.

But the consistency shown is extremely bizarre.

The points deduction affected the Everton squad and everyone around the club, and yes the Toffees were in the wrong, but it’s been poorly portrayed by the media.

With City’s case seemingly not being debated anymore, this wasn’t the case when it came to Everton, as the likes of Neville, Keane, etc, all debated on Sky Sports about the point deduction, with no warning at all from the company.

Bear in mind this was before appeal, and although Everton pleaded guilty, there was no clear message from the broadcasting company.

It’s bizarre and frustrating, and it will be interesting to see what happens next in CIty’s saga, as Forest and Everton will be scratching their heads.
