Manchester United were dealt a huge blow when Ayden Heaven was forced off on a stretcher during their 3-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

The youngster was involved in a tangle with Leicester forward Patson Daka and was in a lot of pain as he went down. The Manchester Evening News later reported that Heaven had been spotted leaving the King Power Stadium with his right leg in a protective boot - but being able to walk out of the stadium without crutches did offer some form of positive update.

"We will see next week. It's hard to understand because, even when he's on the ground, he can't speak, he doesn't know how to explain what he's feeling because he's so young. It's hard to understand what he's feeling," Reds boss Ruben Amorim said during his post-match press-conference.

Heaven joined Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro and Jonny Evans in the treatment room. Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Amad and Altay Bayindir are also on the club's injury list.

However, the international break might have come at the right time for Amorim and his players. After welcoming back Mason Mount against Leicester, Amorim plans to offer his players more rest days in the hope they can return to full fitness.

"Harry Maguire, Kobbie Mainoo, all these players we are going to try to bring that [fitness]," Amorim went on. "The players [must make] a final push for two competitions.

"Some of the players are going to rest more days than usual - so we're going to divide and give different things for different players and try to be ready for the the final two months."

There is hope that Yoro, Mainoo and Maguire could return for their clash at Nottingham Forest on April 1. Yoro was forced off at half-time against Arsenal earlier this month, while Maguire was taken off ahead of extra-time in the FA Cup clash with Fulham last month.
