Ryan Gravenberch and Jeremie Frimpong shared a hilarious embrace as they met up for March's international break.

Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong has joked with Liverpool midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch, amid links with a summer move to Anfield. The ex-Manchester City starlet was heard mimicking the scouse accent after the pair joined up on international duty with the Netherlands.

The viral interaction between Gravenberch and the Dutch full-back comes amid intensifying reports that Frimpong is on the Reds' radar over a proposed summer move. On Monday, Fabrizio Romano reported that a release clause in the region of €40million had been included in Frimpong's contract - amid uncertainty over Trent Alexander-Arnold's future at Anfield.

There were further reports made by German outlet Sport BILD - which suggested that Arne Slot is in "regular contact" with the 24-year-old and the Liverpool head coach has been in touch over a possible move. With the transfer window set to open in June, talk of a move for Frimpong remains speculative but his recent interaction with Gravenberch will likely spark up more conversation on social media and beyond.

After joining up on international duty with Ronald Koeman's side, the official Holland X account posted a clip of an embrace between the two players - who previously went head-to-head in the Champions League when Liverpool beat Leverkusen during the Group Phase.

Frimpong can be heard saying: "Alright la. You alright? You alright, la?" During a jovial exchange between the pair which ends in a hug and a cameo from Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk in the background.

The 24-year-old previously revealed that he wanted to join Liverpool prior to completing his move to Manchester City. He said: "There were scouts there like Liverpool, Bolton, Man City and a lot more.

"I chose Liverpool first. I was going to sign for them but, back then, driving wasn't a thing. My family wasn't driving and it was far.

"Obviously, Man City was local, so I tried Man City next, and then it made more sense. It was 15 minutes on the bus, so yeah."
