Cavenagh, executive chairman of Philadelphia-based insurance firm ParetoHealth, joined forces with Marathe to help secure the deal to see 49ers Enterprises take over at Rangers.

The Swarthmore College graduate is poised to take on a key role at Rangers when the deal is completed with Cavenagh labelled as the money man behind the deal.

Marathe, meanwhile, plays a leading role in 49ers Enterprises, the investment wing of the NFL franchise the San Francisco 49ers.

He is the chairman of Leeds United and has been heavily involved in discussions regarding the proposed takeover at Rangers.
