Celtic are set to block any moves for Cameron Carter-Vickers this summer as he remains a crucial part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans for the future.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that it would cost a significant fee to sign the 27-year-old this summer.
This comes amid growing interest in a potential return to the Premier League, three years after his £6million move from Tottenham in June 2022.
Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider on 16 March that Everton want to sign Carter-Vickers from Celtic to strengthen their defensive options.
His performances so far this season both in the SPFL and the Champions League have caught the eye of the Toffees’ recruitment staff.
However, Celtic are keen to keep him at the club beyond the end of the season as they look to build upon what has been an impressive season for Rodgers’ side.

Celtic to reject Everton move for Cameron Carter-Vickers
Football Insider revealed on 14 March that Celtic will demand “big money” for Carter-Vickers as they are concerned about the impact on the squad if he leaves.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted Premier League sides are unlikely to meet the centre-back’s asking price this summer.
“Carter-Vickers is an important player for Celtic,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s gone up to Scotland and made himself a key player for Brendan Rodgers.
“But I’m not quite convinced he’d play such a major role in a Premier League team.
“I don’t think there will be too many clubs after him unless the asking price is one that suits them, but Celtic aren’t going to let him go for cheap.
“They don’t want to lose him and I expect they’ll be prepared to turn down the interest in him.
“They’re in the Champions League and always competing for all of the domestic trophies, so I don’t think he’s going to have his head turned.
“Like I say, I think it would be a surprise if he moved back to the Premier League, not just because Celtic don’t want to sell but because there are better options out there.”

Brendan Rodgers targets Kyogo Furuhashi replacement
While plans are in place to keep their best players at the club beyond the end of the season, Celtic are also planning to build upon the players they’ve got currently.
Football Insider revealed on 14 March that Celtic want to sign an A-list striker this summer after failing to do any major business in the January window.
Rodgers wants to find a replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi, as the talisman left a hole in the squad when he departed during the mid-season transfer window.
His £10million move to Rennes has left Celtic with money to spend ahead of the summer, and they are planning to utilise those funds to find a replacement.
