'A joke': Sean Dyche slammed again by former player who feels the same as Jake O'Brien

Everton have shown some mightily impressive form under David Moyes since he was appointed in January.

There have been a number of draws thrown into the mix of late, but Everton fans will be aware the club is still heading in the right direction.

However, the work Moyes has been able to pull off at Goodison Park has been nothing short of impressive.

Moyes has proven many pundits wrong who felt he was the wrong man for the job.

And the work he has done behind the scenes with some of the players who Sean Dyche did not give the time of day speaks volumes.

Jake O’Brien has blossomed under Moyes, and the Irishman has now been told he is now alone in being treated poorly by the former Everton manager.

Danny Drinkwater slams former Everton boss Sean Dyche

Everton have scrapped a number of Dyche’s decisions since Moyes was appointed as the manager back in January.

It really has marked a fresh start on Merseyside for a number of the Everton players, and it seems they are not the only ones to have previously been left frustrated by Dyche.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, the former £35m midfielder Danny Drinkwater has slammed Dyche for not playing him during his loan spell at Burnley.

“Burnley was a tricky one. So, I made that move because I wanted to be close to my son again. That was my sole reason for Burnley. I knew football-wise it was nowhere near where I wanted to be at,” said Drinkwater.

“Me and Dyche were never going to work. I had him on loan when I was 18 or 19 at Watford and we used to just clash. Bump heads like mad.

“Over anything. He was just one of those people. I think it was just him and just me.”

“I went there wanting to be close to my family and wanting to get fit, that was my sole aim. And then wanting to play. When I wasn’t getting fit and wasn’t playing: ‘I was like, what have I come here for, man? This is a joke!'”

Dyche has recently joked about his Everton exit, but he is yet to find his next role following his Merseyside sacking.

And the number of players who have not enjoyed working under the 53-year-old are beginning to stack up.

Jake O’Brien will feel justified in his Everton frustrations

Since Dyche’s sacking, O’Brien has made it clear he was frustrated with the lack of opportunities being offered to him.

Under Moyes, O’Brien has become an Everton mainstay having locked down the spot at right-back.

The defender secured Everton another late point on the weekend with yet another headed goal.

O’Brien has taken some digs at Dyche with some of the comments he has made about life under the Scotsman.

And the defender’s form since being handed an opportunity just goes to show how big of a mistake Dyche was making in not playing the 23-year-old.
