Chelsea are tipped to part ways with one of their key players this summer. But, it will require something special to convince the Blues. The West London club have big say in determining the future of the questioned star.
The star in question here is Enzo Fernandez. Recently, there are rumours linking him with Real Madrid. Los Blancos are planning for a midfield rebuild this summer. They want a proper replacement for Toni Kross who retired last season. In addition, Luka Modric is also set to move away very soon due to his age.
Chelsea to part ways with Enzo Fernandez?
Fernandez is one of the main players for Chelsea right now. He is playing a huge role for Enzo Maresca. The Argentine has played 35 games under Italian and responded with 5 goals and 9 assists. Hence, the Blues may not consider selling him anytime soon.
But former Man United scout Mick Brown has given an exception which may force Chelsea to sell Fernandez. He told Football Insider that the Blues may listen to the offers if Madrid are prepared to spend big. He added that the Los Blancos can surely go big as they are keen to strengthen their midfield.
Later, Brown added that Chelsea already have replacements for Fernandez. They have signed many players in recent years out of which some will join the club in future. Lastly, he said that the Argentine may also be open to join Madrid.
Chelsea have Fernandez tied to them with contract until 2032. Hence, they will demand a hefty fee from Real Madrid. Earlier, there were reports that the Blues may demand Aurelien Tchouameni from Madrid in place of Enzo Fernandez in a potential swap deal. It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds as summer window is now approaching rapidly.
