Arsenal Might Get a Star Back After the International Break

It’s not just minded with hope, and for that reason, Arsenal might get a star back over the international break. Mikel Arteta’s squad has taken shape—genuinely an actual squad for the first time in months. First, Ben White returned. First, Gabriel Martinelli again rejoined the fray and even helped Arsenal secure a 1-0 victory over a gritty Chelsea. And with Bukayo Saka, perhaps Arsenal now have their biggest boost of them all.

Yes, that’s right. He is, inches away from returning; the star boy hasn’t been seen since Arsenal punished Crystal Palace. If that is anything to go by, Saka could be back as early as after the international break, and if the comments from the Arteta are anything to go by.

Bukayo Saka’s Comeback: A Timely Lifeline

Arteta told Sky Sports when asked if Saka could return: “Yes.’ He has got a very good chance.” There’s nothing like it for Arsenal fans except hearing the ice cream truck in mid-July after a 40 degree summer day!

Arsenal’s title hopes are not far below the wire. Nine games remain for the Gunners, and they will comfortably finish third, four points clear of Nottingham Forest and nine points clear of fellow London rivals Chelsea. It’s no time to take their foot off the gas, but the Champions League is within touching distance.

This kind of boost, whether it be for Saka’s return (especially ahead of a Real Madrid in the Champions League), is what could make or break the season. Pleasing to the eye is Saka, fresh-legged and Real Madrid scrambling to catch up as he dances past defenders. Delicious, right?

Should Arsenal Risk Saka Right Away?

Bukayo Saka’s return is the million-dollar question: Should they rush the teenager back into the starting XI? Short answer—no.

Long answer? Also no.

Saka is healthy, and with Fulham and Everton up next in the league before the real game and the clash against Real Madrid, there’s no need to throw him into the fire right now. Certainly, let him warm up with a couple of substitute appearances, stretch those hamstrings and loose him like a caged lion when Madrid come calling.

Saka can also come back into form, as Martinelli was able to. Arsene doesn’t actually need him to play 90 minutes against Fulham. Saka, in full flight, on the right wing, when it counts.
