Cam Ward Reveals ‘Dream’ to Play for Struggling NFC Franchise

The 2025 NFL draft is just over a month away and Cam Ward is widely viewed as a favorite to end up being the No. 1 overall pick.

Ward put together a strong 2024 season with the Miami Hurricanes. He put up big-time numbers and showcased elite leadership capability as well.

During the 2024 campaign, the Miami standout completed 67.2% of his pass attempts for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also picked up 204 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

His skill-set and long-term potential would be a welcome addition to many different teams around the NFL.

Where could Ward end up? There are a lot of teams who would love to get him, although the Tennessee Titans do appear likely to take him at No. 1 overall.

Recently, Ward spoke out and revealed a team that he would love to play for at some point during his career.

As shared by Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com, Ward has a "dream" of playing for the New Orleans Saints. The Saints happen to be a team who badly need a long-term franchise quarterback.

"I loved watching Drew Brees and Marques Colston out there. It would be a dream of mine to play for them, if I get a chance someday," Ward said. "But that's not really my focus right now."

New Orleans would make a lot of sense for Ward, but the problem is that they currently hold the No. 9 overall pick.

Finding a way to trade up to No. 1 or No. 2 would not be cheap. While it's a fun idea, the Saints seem like a long shot to end up with Ward.
