Liverpool will have two weeks to wait before their Premier League campaign resumes as they aim to put their Wembley disappointment behind them. The Reds go into the March international break on the back of their 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final at the weekend.

The defeat means that Liverpool's last chance to win a major trophy this season comes with the Premier League. The Reds boast a 12-point lead at the top of the table going into the two-week hiatus and have just nine matches left to play this term. Arsenal closed the gap on Liverpool after beating Chelsea on Sunday afternoon in their game in hand, but the advantage is clear.

Arne Slot's side return to Premier League action on April 2 when they take on Everton at Anfield in the Merseyside Derby. Before then, Arsenal will lock horns with Fulham as the Gunners have a chance to close the gap on the Reds to nine points going into the clash against the Blues.

With just a couple of months left in the season, a fresh prediction has been made on how Liverpool will finish the Premier League campaign. Opta Analyst have crunched the numbers and believe the Reds will be crowned league champions for the 20th time - and by a considerable margin.

Their prediction believes that Liverpool will finish with 89 points (89.41), which would be 12 ahead of Arsenal who have been tipped to amass 77 points (76.92) this term. A total of 89 points would mean the Reds acquire a further 19 across their final nine matches - which could be achieved with six wins, one draw and two defeats.

Liverpool have also been given a 99.13 per cent chance of winning the Premier League title with nine matches left to play. It also means that Arsenal have just a 0.87 per cent likelihood of being crowned the champions this season.
